  • Yenworthy Residential - Wednesday 28 March

    Wed 28 Mar 2018
Today started with Business Activities in the grounds. Various problem solving activities to make them all work as a team using both mental and physical skills.  They all managed the zip wire and some climbed the abseiling wall. In the afternoon, we all joined together for a walk which included a scramble UP a waterfall - wet but great fun! Dinner tonight was fish fingers and chips followed by a choc ice.  Tonight they are splitting into small groups to do the outside Yenworthy quiz.
  • Yenworthy Residential - Tuesday 27 March

    Tue 27 Mar 2018

Breakfast at 8.15am was followed by rota duties - sandwich makers, eco-warriors, hoovering, boot room tidying and dining room place setters.  What a good job they all did!

Following a short minibus ride into Lynmouth, the morning was spent rock-pooling and what amazing finds they all had - crabs, fish, seaweed and shells to name but a few. After lunch on the beach, they clambered over, under and through the rocks on the beach. Some gaps in the rock really were a tight squeeze but they all managed it with a little help and encouragement from their friends. This was followed by fire making and marshmallow toasting.  We then drove up through Lynton to the Valley of the Rocks.  This was an amazing ridge walk/scramble/rock climb with fabulous views. Dinner was beef stew and dumplings followed by trifle. They are now back outside in the grounds doing an orienteering course before their bedtime hot chocolate!

    Mon 26 Mar 2018
We arrived safely at Yenworthy Lodge around lunchtime. Following lunch on the terrace, kit was collected, beds were made and suitcases unpacked.  The first activity was the 'Ropes Course' in the Yenworthy grounds - fun was had by all.  By 5.30pm everyone was ready for dinner - Chicken Curry followed by Raspberry Meringue Nests. After eating, we walked across the moors as it started to get dark.  They are busy writing postcards home as I update the website - look out for the postman!
