Dry Sandford: Have fun learning!
Hello everyone and welcome back to another fun-filled year at Dry Sandford. We are looking forward to seeing year 1-6 on 5th September. The Early Years new children are having a staggered start with some starting on 5th September, and some starting on 6th September (so we can makes sure they settle well on their first day with lots of adults to support them). Now they are in the older children’s end of the school, Year 2 children will go into school with the year 3s and their start/ end times for the school day will be the same as year 3 as well. This will make it convenient for parents to pick them up. (8:50am and 3:10 pm).
One of the many exciting events of the end of last year was that we bought a double decker bus for the school…
We are in the process of turning this into a ‘Play Bus’/ Sensory Bus and we are hoping that by half term it will be instated on our school grounds for the children to visit to do a variety of learning. There will be discussion rooms for adults and children/ sand play/water play/ sensory space/ wild- life observation space and places for children to do all sorts of 1:1 and small group learning.
I am so grateful to the people who have been involved in fund-raising and in persuading local businesses to provide resources to carry out the conversion. We really need this space because of the speed with which our numbers are rising; the Learning Centre is now a classroom!
These are some of the many many bits and pieces that Becky (one of our amazing parents) has made. She has re-upholstered one seat so far and is on the way with another…to say nothing of the motivational and sensory bits that she has made… Thank you!
We are on ‘Facebook’ . Please look us up under ‘Dry Sandford School Bus Renovation Project’ where you will be able to find out what we need. The sooner we have the resources, the sooner the bus will be built and the children will be able to enjoy it!
See you all soon!

Welcome to our school website. This website is designed to give you a glimpse of the range of opportunities available at Dry Sandford School as well as an insight into the things we consider important in the education of our children.
Parents and visitors to our school often comment on the warm and friendly atmosphere. We aim for every child to have a happy and active primary education in an environment that is caring and supportive. We try to provide stimulation and structure so that all children are able to reach their full potential.
If you are a prospective parent looking for an admission place for your child, I would be delighted if you would come along to meet us in person and look around the school. Before you look around, some of our pupils would like to tell you a bit about their school…
